“I am my brother’s keeper!”

These are the words of The Messiah at his various speeches. These are the lofty words used to incite the masses into a massive love fest. However, the UK Times found Obama’s Auntie Onyango living in a Boston slum. His freaking aunt – the aunt he spoke of fondly numerous times in his bestseller. Good grief. He can’t take care of his own aunt, yet he’s insisting that we are our brother’s keeper? He dares to trail out the suffering and let them tell their, “woe is me, I’m so down-trodden,” AND HE CAN'T TAKE CARE OF HIS AUNT? Sorry, Dude, you go first.

Auntie Onyango told the UK Times that she was sworn to secrecy until the 4^th. Gosh, he can shut her the hell up so he can win the election, but he can’t help her. My GOD. The arrogance is breathtaking.

Hawaii couldn’t make universal child health care work because everyone dropped their current insurance to get the freebie. What a shock. Given that, maybe you’ll get the message and drop the idea here. We’re already paying some of the highest taxes in the country. I can’t afford you anymore. In fact, I can’t afford Sacramento either.

Fire and education just don't mix

This goes in my "things that make me go, 'hmmm'" file. Our local Santiago Canyon fire is still smoldering but is completely contained. Yay for a tough job well done. Not a day after the smoke finally cleared and school was back in session, school administrators wore very stern faces and informed everyone that those missed days of school had to be made up. No ifs, and, or buts about it. Everyone saw it coming, of course, and were prepared to do the extra days because education is education, right?

Then I read in my paper that, lo and behold! those days don't have to be made up after all. The state is going to pay the school districts for those missed days. I'm still trying to find the connection between the sudden appearance state money and a missed week of school. After all, that missed week impacts whether little Johnny understands subtraction or can spell NannyState. Silly me. It was never about education.

And these are the people we want running our health care?
